Well,I've come out of retirement....kind of. I am serving as a school counselor in Kensal, ND....2 Mondays a month!!!! Pretty tiny school....45 students in K - 12. We have an apt. in Jamestown, ND and are there Saturday - Tuesday. Then, we are back in Fergus Falls the rest of the week. Weeks fly by!!!! |

I'm just thankful that I had the opportunity to go to the academy. I was able to be myself there....truly made a difference in my life. And, it was during my senior year that a chapel speaker asked us all the question, "how many of you know if you are going to heaven?". He then directed us to I John 5:13: "I write this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may KNOW that you have eternal life". All my years in church...noone had ever told me that. I knew I was a sinner and wanted God to control my life....but I did not know that I could be sure I was going to heaven. Also so key in my life was praying with Art's mom to be filled with the Holy Spirit during our senior weekend retreat before graduation. The Holy Spirit shows me my sin, teaches me about Jesus' love and gives me the ability to live as God would have me to live daily......not just a one time experience, but a daily
surrender.......wow! So my time at Augustana Academy truly shaped my life. I messed up a lot my senior year at Concordia.....but thankfully, God pursued me, found me and has given me a full and rich life - as is His desire for each one of us. |
